Here in France, we are very well known for our food. To the left is an example of an evening meal, Pot Au Feu, which here in France translates as beef stew with mixed vegetables. Up in the right corner is an example of a decadent french pastry. Many people get the impression that we have many heavy foods and ingredients that go into every meal. This is not true. Our meals are actually very simple. Our food get the high quality you expect from fresh ingredients and very careful preparation instead of complex recipes. However, you can find complex dining and cuisine in many french restaurants here. French food is so highly respected here, the usual lunch break is about two hours or more which means I get to spend more time with my family for lunch. The businesses usually close during this time until bout 2:00 P.M. for when they come back. They usually close around 7:00 P.M.
