History of Spain

Hey, Carolina's back again, and I want to tell you about the history of my country, Spain. We are a proud member of the European Union. Modern humans entered the Iberian Peninsula more than thirty-five thousand(35,000) years ago. The Celts, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, and Visigoths were only a few of the peoples that tried to invade and take over Spain, but we held our own. In 711, an Arab army, known amongst our people as the Moors, invaded and nearly conquered the entire peninsula. In the next 750 years, the muslim states were established and referred to as a whole as Al-Andalus. Meanwhile, the Christian states, called the Reconquista, were recovering.
