some time the roman empire was there. and after that pope John Paul the second declared holy war on the middle east ,and so the crusades started. after the first crusade in the city of Jerusalem the knights templar started. The templars where not traditional crusaders they were Christan not catholic. after that the templars took over the city of Jerusalem. the other crusaders did not like this and the second crusade started. in the second crusade more of the "holy land" was conquered along with the fall of the templars. after their fall templars were tortured to "confess to their heresy" like supposedly worshipping the head of John the Baptist
