Autoroute

Hey. Over the last weekend, my family and I went on a road trip from Paris to Marseille. We chose to go to Marseille because it is the second biggest city in France next to Paris. To get there we used the amazing autoroute( as seen to the left). The autoroute is the French highway. It extends all throughout France and has a total of over 7000 km of roads. One amazing thing about the autoroute is the amount of rest stops. There's a rest stop every 20 km. or so. They can have restaurants, bathrooms, gas stations, picnic areas, and large grass areas for kids to play in. Try not to buy gas along the autoroute because it is much more expensive than in the towns and cities. We found that out the hard way. They were very helpful for the long ride down to Marseille. There are also emergency telephones about every 1-2 km. in case your car were to break down or if there was an accident which luckily didn't happen to us. However, if you use the phone because you ran out of gas you will get a ticket. I would say to use this highway for any long distance trip in France.
