Italy's Favorite Sport

Here in Italy, a lot of people like soccer, called calcio in Italian. Soccer is so famous in Italy that tiny villages invest in large playing fields with night lighting. If you go to one of our local parks, you will always see some children or adults playing around with a soccer ball. Another favorite sport in Italy is Cycling. The most important cycling event is the Giro d'Italia. Formula 1 car racing is also another famous sport in Italy. A lot of people cheer when the Ferrari team wins. So if you are really like any of these sports, you will find that Italy is a delightful place to play that sport in. In fact, I play soccer over in Rome. I am really good at it. My team is called The Italian Thiefs.
