Smashing good foods!

We eat a lot of fine foods around here, from roast beef to pork chops, and carrots to broccoli, potatoes and pasta, no matter what it is, it's fine cuisine. Not to mention we eat a plethora of foods from many of our surrounding Nationalities. My family in particular loves Indian foods, Mediterranean, Spanish, and French. My mother is a great cook, and I love to help her around the kitchen. We have some fine restaurants here in Plymouth, but we eat in mostly. I enjoy my life and family and life very much, and can imagine it no other way. :)

Spainish Holidays

It's Carolina again, here to tell you all about Spainish Holidays. Well, first of all is Sundays. While they're not technically "holidays", most, if not all shops will be closed, because many cities in Spain have laws against things such as shopping or hosting events on Sundays. Like many others, we celebrate New Years Day, on the first of every year, but on the 6th of January, we hold an event called The Epiphany, or the King's Day. Held 12 days after Christmas Day, it celebrates when the Kings, or Wise Men, brought gifts to the Baby Jesus. Another odd thing that we do is, while we do celebrate on Christmas Day, the 24th is much more important. Called The Navidad, it is valued by many as more holy. All shops close on that day, but are usually open on Christmas, the day after. That's all for now, Adios, Carolina.

Hey I'm back. Today I'm going to show you some pictures of the Greek gods, hope you enjoy.
To the left is Zeus, the Greek god of thunder.
In the cent is Hades, god of the underworld.
To the left of Hades is Ares, god of war. And last but not least Poseidon to the right of Hades, the god of water.

Ukraine Cameras

I wanted to tell you all about a camera from Ukraine. But unfortunately it is all written in Ukrainian. So if anyone can read Ukrainian I strongly ask that you read about the camera because it is very fascinating!

education

Education in Austria is pretty good. In stead of the 12 years of school like we have they have only 9 years. They also have colleges and other places to learn after the 9 years. Austria literacy rate is 99% for men and women and is one of the highest in the world. If your wondering who this is, he is a dean of a collage in Austria.

Italian Music

In my culture rock and pop music have become very popular. Rock came in the 70's and has since progressed into a more sentimental form of music. It now incorporates sounds from the past and has more of a national flavor. Even some Latin American tunes top the charts. Pop and hip hop continue to build on there sucesses. As of now there afre only about three prominent rappers.

Origin Of The French Language

This whole week of school, we have been talking about the origin of our language, French, in school. I thought it was interesting and thought I might talk about it today. First off, French was created from using latin, italian, spanish, portugese, and romanian. French has a very long language family. French started as Indo-European but then evolved onto Italic, then to Romance, then Italo-Western, Western, Gallo-Iberian, Gallo-Romance, Gallo-Rhetian, Oil, then finally to french.
